Driving on I-89 through Warner and Hopkinton is about to get a little more complicated as the state paints a couple of bridges.

The N.H. Department of Transportation project consists of painting the steel beams of bridges carrying I-89 northbound and I-89 southbound over Pine Street in Hopkinton, and on N.H. Route 103 over I-89 northbound in Warner. 

For the bridge carrying Route 103 there will be a single lane on the bridge controlled by temporary signals to facilitate the alternating traffic over the bridge.

On I-89, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-89 northbound during working hours. The project will begin, weather permitting, on Wednesday and could last for some time.

Modern Protective Coatings of Hudson is the contractor for the $850,125 project which has a completion date of Sept. 6.
