Stabbing related to mental health reported outside state facility in Concord

A person experiencing a mental health crisis was involved in a stabbing outside a state facility in Concord on Monday morning, according to state police.
At 8:45 a.m. today New Hampshire Troopers responded to the parking lot of the Department of Environmental Services at 29 Hazen Drive after receiving reports of a stabbing and an injured person on the ground.
Upon arrival, officers found the individual with self-inflicted injuries and transported them to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening wounds.
State police confirmed the person is not a state employee, though it remains unclear why they were on the premises.
The Concord Fire Department and the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office assisted the New Hampshire State Police at the scene.
Authorities said the public was in no immediate threat.
Officials are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to help with the ongoing investigation to contact state police.
