A single-story home on Shingle Mill Brook Road in Pittsfield was destroyed by fire over the weekend.

Firefighters from Pittsfield and surrounding departments responded to the fire call around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning at 7 Shingle Mill Brook Road.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 9:30 a.m. but the house sustained significant damage, said Pittsfield Fire Chief Peter Pszonowsky. No one was injured.

The four-bedroom, single-bathroom home was built in 1990, according to town tax records. The exterior of the property was in poor condition, town records show.

Crews from surrounding towns arrived to shuttle water to the scene that was used to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire remains to be determined, according to Pszonowsky, who is investigating the incident.
