Highlights: Embree scored a pair of goals two minutes apart in the middle of the first period, but Podsadowski cut Belmont-Gilford’s lead in half with a goal in the second period. The General Hawks had several chances to tie the game in the second and third periods but ultimately couldn’t find the tying goal in Saturday’s Division III quarterfinal. The Bulldogs advance to Wednesday’s semifinal round at Plymouth State University, where Belmont-Gilford will take on the top seed and defend champions in Berlin-Gorham (14-2-2).

Highlights: The two-time defending champion Pythons overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime and defeated the Bears in OT for the third straight meeting, this time in a D-II quarterfinal. Pelham led 23-18 after the first quarter and 30-25 at halftime before Coe-Brown took a 45-42 lead into the fourth. The Bears led 52-42 with 6½ minutes left in regulation, but Pelham’s Justin Bowland tied the game, 55-55, with a layup with around 26 seconds left. The Pythons had a chance to win the game on the final possession of regulation, but their layup rolled off the rim at the buzzer. Coe-Brown’s season comes to an end in the quarterfinals, while Pelham advances to its fifth consecutive final four.

Highlights: Oyster River came out firing, making five 3-pointers in the first quarter, and never cooled off, finishing with 14 conversions from beyond the arc. The Spartans’ shots would not drop in the first half and, despite a great effort, they could not overcome the early deficit, ending their season in the Division II quarterfinals. The Bobcats led 33-20 at halftime and 52-32 at the end of the third quarter.

Highlights: The Pride led 11-7 after the first quarter, 17-13 at halftime and 32-28 heading into the fourth quarter, but Derryfield opened the final period with a 9-4 run to take a 37-36 lead with less than four minutes to go in regulation. MV’s Jada Lucas tied the game, 39-39, with a free throw with 46.7 seconds to go to force OT.
