A Franklin man sustained serious injuries on Saturday after losing control of his ATV while returning home from a neighbor’s house on Smith Hill Road.

Timothy McCullough, 48, was traveling home by himself along the roadway and lost control of his vehicle in his driveway around 7:30 p.m., according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

After the crash, a neighboring child found McCullough on the ground next to his overturned ATV and returned home to get his parents to assist McCullough and call for help.

McCullough was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was transported to Franklin Hospital with serious injuries.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department were assisted by the Franklin Fire Department, the Franklin Police Department and the New Hampshire State Police. The crash remains under investigation.
