A 33-year-old Concord man is facing multiple drug and weapons charges following a shooting on Basin Street last month where he sustained minor injuries.

Shane Vannest turned himself in to the Concord Police Department last week after officers collected enough “physical and digital” evidence and witness testimony to justify charges , police said.

On July 22, police were called to the 76 Basin Street home at 2:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Vannest suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Basin Street runs along the Merrimack River to the east of Hall Street and Interstate 93 in South Concord.

After investigating, police charged Vannest with eight felonies, including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, two counts of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute (marijuana and methamphetamine) and three counts of possession of a controlled drug (marijuana, methamphetamine and suboxone). He also faces two misdemeanors, accusing him of breach of bail and changing  the identifying marks on a firearm.

He was arraigned in the Merrimack County Superior Court on Thursday.
