Authorities have completed the autopsy on the body recovered from Casco Bay in Maine last Friday, but they have yet to confirm the identity.

The Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has stated that while the autopsy is finished and "efforts to positively identify the remains are ongoing."

This development follows the incident involving a New Hampshire resident from Bow who fell off a boat in Casco Bay on July 4. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the boat was traveling south between Mackworth Island and Chebeague Island.

The Maine Marine Patrol recovered the body last Friday around 10 a.m. after a recreational fisherman discovered it in the water around 100 yards from the end of Indian Point Road on Chebeague Island.

Initially transported to a local funeral home, the body was later moved to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for examination.
