The next exhibition at Two Villages Art Society in Hopkinton is a solo show of the work of Sandy Steen Bartholomew, an artist who celebrates the imaginative, neurodivergent mind through whimsical creatures, playful stories, and unconventional materials.

If you like the Dropkick Murphys, then The Rebel Collective might be the band for you. They will be the featured performers at the Tuesday, July 1 Henniker Concert Series in the Angela Robinson Bandstand, Community Park at 6 p.m.

Moriah Billups has been named the Young Professional of the Year by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce. Billups, 32, currently lives in Hooksett and works at Concord Hospital Trust as a philanthropy office. She was honored at the Chamber’s Pinnacle Awards in early June and previously was named Young Professional of the Month in February 2023. 

This week’s artist spotlight, brought to you through a collaboration with the Concord Insider and the Concord Arts Market, focuses on Leah Kuehne, who lives in Rumney and grew up in Manchester. Kuehne graduated from Gordon College with a degree in Fine Art. She works in a range of mediums including, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oils. Her work is inspired by nature and includes, landscape, abstract landscape and florals.

The Pittsfield Players will premiere Concord writer George Kelly’s new play, “A Time to Gather Stones,” at the Scenic Theatre in Pittsfield on Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29.

Meet Cady Hickman, a marketing specialist who lives in Manchester and works at Rumford Stone in Bow. Her talents stretch far beyond the office. As a proud Concord Rotarian and PR Chair, co-founder of Queen City Improv and a national performer, Cady brings creativity and connection to every role she takes on. She travels the country singing the national anthem at marathons through her initiative, “Cady Sings & Strides,” and was named to the Union Leader’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2021.

The New Hampshire Historical Society’s newest exhibition, “A Legacy of Landscapes: Selections from the Linda and P. Andrews McLane Collection,” displays more than 60 paintings of White Mountain landscape art from a single private collection. Most of these paintings have not been on view to the public for many years.

The Pierce Manse, the historic Concord home of New Hampshire’s only U.S. president, Franklin Pierce, opened for guided tours last week. The Manse will be open Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October 25. Reservations are not required.

Loudon Elementary School will host its inaugural Health and Wellness Fair on Friday, June 6. This event marks a significant milestone in our commitment to promoting the well-being of our students and the broader community.

More than 40 New Hampshire artists will display their work in the 2025 Summer Members Show & Sale at Two Villages Art Society’s gallery in the Hopkinton village of Contoocook. The show opens May 31, with a reception from noon to 2 p.m. and runs through June 28.

It all began modestly 45 years ago when New England College Professor of Music Angela Robinson revived a 19th-century tradition of hosting outdoor community concerts. On Tuesday evenings during July and August, Robinson’s volunteer musicians would present an hour of Souza marches and Patriotic tunes to a crowd of 50-100 families and seniors. Blithe Reed would sing the Star Spangled Banner and the Henniker Peace Community would sell lemonade and brownies. Halfway through the program, Robinson would lead a parade of young children through the crowd to a rousing march.
