Letter: Crime is on the ballot

Kelly Ayotte promotes herself as “tough on crime,” yet she continues to support a convicted criminal for president. Donald Trump has been found guilty of financial fraud, tax fraud, sexual abuse, and defamation, yet Ayotte stands by her man. Trump has been indicted for stealing national security secrets and for his attempts to overthrow the votes of 81 million Americans, yet Ayotte has “no comment.”

Numerous criminals, who Trump pardoned, have been found guilty of crimes such as fraud, contempt, and domestic violence in the three and half years since they were pardoned, but Ayotte has not condemned the actions of these criminals, or of Trump for pardoning them. Until Kelly Ayotte retracts her support of felon Trump and endorses Kamala Harris, her posture of being “tough on crime” rings hollow, and is nothing more than a campaign slogan.
