Letter: Stop the stupid

Stupid is as stupid does. A phrase that was coined by Tom Hanks by the character “Forest” is so true at least two times a year. I am referring to the federal budget deadline and the BS Congress puts the American people through each and every time.

Just do your jobs, work together and pass a budget that reflects the needs of the country, not petty wants and grandstand issues for the sake of the current news cycle. We do not elect you to represent yourselves or your own personal interests and political desires. We have elevated you to a position higher than many of you deserve, so rise to the occasion and just get the work done. Then, after you have all done the work, go back to your partisan politics because we know you will.
