Letter: The media are too kind to Trump

The news outlets should stop bending over backwards to be fair to Donald Trump. They treat him like a normal candidate, not someone who has vowed to destroy the American democracy the way his dictator friends have done in their own countries.

Every piece should remind readers and viewers that Trump is a convicted felon who used campaign cash right before the 2016 election to buy the silence of a porn star he had sex with. That is important, honest, relevant information.

The audience should also hear that Trumps owes E. Jean Carroll $87 million for raping and mocking her, that he owes New York State another $450 million for unpaid taxes, and that he appointed three of the post-nonpartisan-era Supreme Court judges who wrote wholly new law when they ruled that a president can commit with impunity any crime he likes as part of his or her official duties. And the deaths of seven people because of the January 6 riot? Pardoned. And the major Trump-caused injuries to more than a hundred police officers who defended the capitol from Trump’s mob? Pardoned. Nobody should treat this man as sane or normal. He has done a thousand things that would destroy any other political career.
