Letter: Sununu as political influencer ends

With the word “yeah,” Gov. Sununu’s job as a fast talking political influencer has ended. I speak of the answer to commentator George Stephanopoulos’s question of whether he will still support Trump, while a laundry list of Trump transgressions follow. Now to be fair, Sununu also adds in “along with the other 51%” to finish the Sunday morning interview. Well who wouldn’t want to be with a winning majority?

But who really is the winner here? Where is his influence? It isn’t with Nikki Haley. And definitely not with the citizens of New Hampshire. I’m glad that Stephanopoulos did not cave to his masterful art of deflection. It exposed who he is and where his post-term local and national influence will end and, where his moral compass points. I’m disappointed in him. Shouldn’t everyone? Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, governor.
